King of Gulls: some Great Black-headed Gulls from UAE
Despite seeing many Great Black-headed Gulls in many places, I had never quite managed to get any good photos. So, it was a nice surprise when I managed to get close enough to get these shots last week in UAE (all taken at Ras al Khaimah, 20 March).
nice going through your blog. and seeing the birds etc in your area. http://www.myegypt.co.uk/index.php?f=data_home&a=5 http://birdinginegypt.blogspot.com
I live close to the village of Newburgh in North-east Scotland. My local birding patch is the Ythan estuary and, especially in the winter months, Peterhead. Nowadays most of my birding time is spent gull watching.
This web site is really just a way to make my pictures useful in some way, rather than having them sitting unused on my computer. I hope you find them interesting, useful and stimulating. Most pictures are gulls, but there are some other birds dotted around - please browse through the older posts...
