I had this bird with an extreme amount of white in the primaries (note especially P8) at the weekend. Great looking bird, but unfortunately I cant make it into anything but a canus.

- I live close to the village of Newburgh in North-east Scotland. My local birding patch is the Ythan estuary and, especially in the winter months, Peterhead. Had one very similar to that at Marton Mere Blackpool a few weeks ago - cold spell - but unfortunately wsn't able to get any pics of it, very distinctive in flight through the bins though and no problem picking it out amongst masses of other gulls present at the time
